Their structure may open itself up to some ethical dilemmas but their complaint process and the fact that they exist keeps the business world more in line. They are one of the very few resources where customers can have a say when they have a problem with a business. Many times an Attorney General or FTC may have no interest or will not follow up. In some cases it may not be serious enough to enlist these types of resources. That’s where I believe the BBB is irreplaceable.
