What's Your Brain Got To Do With It?

Are you one of those lucky individuals that use both sides of your brain evenly? Are you able to identify which one is more dominant? If I told you that stretching, expanding and getting a little uncomfortable will propel you into an expansion of more attraction and more abundance, would you be willing to just step outside the comfort zone?

What's Your Brain Got To Do With It?

Have you ever heard of a left brained or right brained person? I guess I've heard of it, but never took the time to learn about it. I happened on a speaker this week named Daniel Pink. He is the author of A Whole New World Right Brainers will rule the world.

Here is what I learned... I'm really, really, right brained. I understood a lot of things about myself, like I don't like to figure things out. I am more creative and intuitive. I'd rather go with the flow. To ask me to be sequential, logical and linear almost makes my brain hurt. It is not natural at all to me, so like everyone else, I take the easy road.

In Algebra class, I was creative enough to figure out how to get the right answer using Math, the problem was I was supposed to be using Algebra, I figured if I got the right answer, who cares, the teachers didn't see it that way. So, I guess I've been a right brainer for a very long time. I was creative enough NOT to use my left brain...Interesting!

Now there are disadvantages and advantages to this. The disadvantage is that I am very difficult to copy. I adapt easily and I do much better if I can fly by the seat of my pants. Not everyone is like this however. Now the advantage however is that as technology advances, those left brained people are so sequential that they create a linear formula to follow and once that is done, it's over. They basically put themselves out of a job as they logically build things that add order and logic to lives. We creative sorts need to tell them what we need and let them figure out the logical way of making it happen and put some order to it. But once that's done, then what?

The fact is, we all need each other and more importantly, once you identify what you really are, you can make a conscious effort to make it different and take down the "imaginary" wall that lies between the two sides. Touch your elbow to the opposite knee, crawl around your house for therapeutic reasons. Be aware that if you are totally left brained, that it is a BELIEF. You don't have to be that way. There is a creative side inside of you just waiting to come out. The right brained folks can become more sequential and copyable if they begin to BELIEVE that they use both sides, effortlessly.

Sid Caesar said, "The guy who invented the wheel was an idiot, the guy who invented the other 3 was the genius".

So here is my challenge to you today! Are you one of those lucky individuals that use both sides evenly?

Are you able to identify which one is more dominant? If I told you that stretching, expanding and getting a little uncomfortable will propel you into an expansion of more attraction and more abundance, would you be willing to just step outside the comfort zone? Can you write an affirmation for yourself that challenges your weaker side?

I'm sure you have opinions and comments and I'd love to hear them.
